Building Momentum Through Strategic Vision
We're at Restaurant Copine. AWB hosting. Supermercado curating an eight-course dinner that unfolds with quiet confidence. The room brings together founders, senior communication leaders, cultural influencers & operators shaping brand, reputation & consumer sentiment. Across the table sits Josefine Rudenstam.
"2018 feels like a lifetime ago," Josefine Rudenstam says, pausing to appreciate the precision of the red mullet before her, its skin crisped just so, the jalapeños & sesame offering the kind of deliberate contrast that defines thoughtful composition.
Building a Movement & The Strategic Inflection Point
In 2018, the brief from Seezona was deceptively complex. Sweden’s emerging marketplace for next-generation fashion brands needed someone who could translate the aspirations of emerging designers into cultural currency, who understood that PR is the strategic architecture of perception. It was a role that demanded rare fluency; part strategist, part cultural editor.
APTA was proud to lead that search. Finding the right person wasn’t about matching a job description; it was about identifying someone whose instincts were calibrated to a market still defining itself.
What Josefine accomplished at Seezona between 2018 - 2023 reads like a blueprint for modern brand building. Josefine Rudenstam established the complete PR infrastructure: strategy, event production, press relations, influencer ecosystems, B2B collaborations, agency management, media planning. Under her leadership, Seezona became synonymous with a particular kind of fashion entrepreneurship, one that refused the false choice between commercial ambition & conscious production.
By 2019, Josefine Rudenstam had taken on a second role: Head of Public Relations at AÉRYNE, an international fashion brand with Scandinavian roots & a clear mission to empower women through sustainable design.
For four years, Josefine Rudenstam held both positions simultaneously, navigating the distinct creative identities & market logics of two complementary organizations. When Seezona acquired AÉRYNE, the strategic choice was to develop it further as a standalone brand, with its own production, its own voice, its own trajectory. In connection with that decision, Josefine took on full responsibility for AÉRYNE as well: two brands, one architect.
Perfect matches aren't found. They're made
At Copine, the conversation turns reflective. Careers aren't linear progressions through increasingly senior titles. They're strategic narratives, each chapter building capabilities the market doesn't yet know it needs.
The dinner continues. Supermercado's curation moves from red mullet to anchovies to mussels, each dish a study in restraint & intention. Josefine talks about the difference between building a brand & operating within one, between creating the narrative infrastructure & executing within established frameworks. She's done both.
Surrounded by brand leaders, cultural voices & discerning observers of both markets & menus, the conversation isn’t anchored in past milestones. It’s about what comes next.
From Fashion Entrepreneurship to Institutional Brand Leadership
Since May 2023, Josefine has served as PR & Marketing Manager for the Fashion Departments at Nordiska Kompaniet, one of Scandinavia’s most storied luxury retail destinations, spanning womenswear, menswear & luxury across its Stockholm & Gothenburg locations. It is a role that draws on the full arc of everything Josefine Rudenstam has built: the editorial sensibility developed at ELLE, the brand architecture forged at Seezona & AÉRYNE, the instinct for cultural resonance honed across a decade of independent brand building.
At NK, the canvas is broader & the stakes correspondingly higher. Josefine Rudenstam oversees budgeting, campaign creation & implementation across online & offline channels, earned, owned & paid, while leading project management for major launches & trend-sensitive initiatives. Josefine Rudenstam guides collaborations with creative agencies, manages e-commerce & performance marketing strategies & leads PR & influencer work, maintaining the kind of relationships with press & key opinion leaders that take years to cultivate.
The dinner at Copine draws toward its finale. The room hums with the kind of energy that good conversation & great food produce together. Josefine’s trajectory, from showroom assistant & fashion editorial to independent brand builder to one of Swedish luxury retail’s most senior marketing voices.
