APTA’s Personality Questionnaire:
Personality is the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character. Psychological research shows personality questionnaires to be useful predictors of workplace performance. Research shows personality questionnaires to be very effective selection tools when used in combination with interviews and/or aptitude tests. (APTA’s Personality Questionnaire consists of 132 multiple choice questions and takes around 15-20 minutes to complete, but there is no time limit.)
APTA’s Personality Questionnaire measures a wide range of personality traits, spanning across the Big 5 and 16PF models of personality. Personality Traits Measured: Compassionate, Assertive, Approachable, Free Thinking, Private, Resilient, Reflective, Sociable, Sensitive, Assured, Methodical, Openness, Emotional, Stability, Collected, Procedural, Cautious, Extraversion, Explorative, Calm, Conscientiousness, Agreeableness
APTA’s Questionnaire suite consists of three personality questionnaires. Since APTA’s Questionnaire suite is based on well supported and robust models of personality, all three tests are useful predictors of job performance, as well as showing utility in personal development. A thorough job analysis is recommended before using the questionnaire suite, ensuring the traits most relevant to the role are identified.

- APTA Numerical Reasoning: APTA’s Numerical reasoning is the ability to understand, interpret and logically evaluate numerical information. Numerical reasoning is a major facet of general cognitive ability, the strongest overall predictor of job performance. As a result, numerical reasoning tests are powerful predictors of performance at work, especially in combination with other aptitude tests. (APTA’s Numerical consists of 15 questions, takes 12-15 minutes to complete and requires a calculator and some rough paper.)
- APTA Verbal Reasoning: Verbal reasoning is the ability to understand, interpret and logically evaluate written information. Verbal reasoning is a major facet of general cognitive ability, the strongest overall predictor of job performance. As a result, verbal reasoning tests are powerful predictors of performance at work, especially in combination with other aptitude tests. (APTA Verbal consists of 20 questions and takes around 12-15 minutes to complete.)
- APTA’s Inductive Reasoning: APTA’s Inductive reasoning is the ability to identify patterns, solve problems and apply logical thinking. Inductive reasoning is a major facet of general cognitive ability, the strongest overall predictor of job performance. As a result, inductive reasoning tests are powerful predictors of performance at work, especially in combination with other aptitude tests. (APTA Inductive consists of 15 questions and takes 12-15 minutes to complete, with a maximum time limit of 60 seconds per question.)
- APTA’s Critical Thinking: Critical thinking is the ability to apply clear and reasoned thinking to solving problems. Critical thinking is a major facet of general cognitive ability, the strongest overall predictor of job performance. As a result, critical thinking tests are powerful predictors of performance at work, especially in combination with other aptitude tests. (APTA’s Critical Thinking consists of 16 questions and takes around 10 minutes to complete, with a maximum time limit of 40 seconds per question.)

- APTA’s Sales Questionnaire: is APTA’s sales personality questionnaire. The APTA’s Sales Questionnaire only measures personality traits relevant to performance in sales, making APTA’s Sales Questionnaire a useful selection / development tool for sales roles.
- APTA’s Leadership Questionnaire: is APTA’s leadership personality questionnaire. APTA’s Leadership Questionnaire: only measures personality traits relevant to performance in leadership, making APTA’s Leadership Questionnaire a useful selection / development tool for leadership positions.
