On behalf of Barnebys, APTA is currently looking for a talented, motivated, and design driven Head of Design (HOD) who is able to think outside the box and take Barnebys UX/UI to the next level. As Head of Design, you will become a central part of the team and your main responsibility will be to drive and develop a best-in-class UX/UI for Barnebys.
In your role, you will develop the design for existing offerings together with visionalizing greater updates/services. Your role also includes a general brand perspective i.e. overseeing our production of advertisements as well as preserving and developing our overall graphical identity.
As Head of Design you will report to the CPO, and in part the CEO, together with working directly with the rest of the team to deliver on priorities for web applications needed to support ongoing and strategic initiatives. This role requires someone who loves solving issues around user workflow as well as someone who can produce visionary graphics.

Responsibilities:
- Design workflows centered around improving user experience
- Design layouts for the platforms to promote a modern, usable, and accessible look and feel
- Communicate visionary ideas on design to management
- Delivery of features according to priorities
- Overseeing our visual identity
- Overseeing external marketing resources for the production of banner campaigns /ads
Experience/Requirements:
- Fluent in English; Swedish (great but not required)
- Great communication skills
- Existing permission to work in Sweden
- 4+ years of experience as a UI/UX designer
- Experience in workflow diagrams, writing user stories, graphical layout, and typography
You probably have the following background/profile:
Professional Qualifications
- A degree from a well reputed college or postgraduate education
- Solid experience from UX and UI design
- A strong will to learn more and do more with the abilities you have
- An understanding of entrepreneurial challenges
- Experience in search aggregation and/or e-commerce industries is a plus, but not essential
Personal Competencies
- Strong ability for problem solving
- Strategic planning skills, ability to juggle multiple major long-term initiatives
- Action-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English (a benefit but not a must if you know Swedish too)
